Kathy and I met in high school in 1963 -64,  I was a senior, she was a sophomore (ain't that special).  We got married on December 7th (Pearl Harbor Day) in 1966 while I was in the Navy.  We have one son (also Jim) who married his high school sweetheart (Gala), they have three sons named Ryan, Jared and Jacob.  Visit the BENGE Web-Page  (Link) to see pictures and stories about them.   My dad also has a Web-Site called HUBIE's Home Page (Link) with a little about him, his gun club and buddies, my sisters, etc.

Kathy has been a Medical Assistant in Pediatrics for about 25 years, having worked for two different doctors, and I have worked for the Federal Government for over 30 years, I started out working in the electrical trade and have worked in maintenance planning and administration for over 20 years during that time.  We are both looking forward to retiring by the year 2000 and plan on doing a lot of traveling by motorcycle.

Home-Sweet-Home
(or where to park the Beemers)

The first couple of  places we lived in were rentals while I was in the Navy.  When I got out of the service we settled in Spring Valley, California within two blocks of Kathy's parents.  We rented the house shown on the right.  It wasn't much to look at but the rent was cheap and it wasn't to far to walk to the outhouse.  We stayed there for about three or four  years (1968 - 1972).  (Just kidding, although the real rentals weren't much better).  This is actually a photograph of the first school house constructed in Utah).

Rental House (had no garage)

In 1972 we bought the house we are currently living in (shown on the right).  It's paid for, the taxes are reasonable and it has enough room to store all the toys and junk we have collected over the years.  We paid it off early by selling corn and squash from the from yard garden.  When we retire we plan on fixing it up a bit, (maybe fix the plumbing and get the back yard planted to supplement our retirement income).

Our Home in Spring Valley, CA

After the harvest we found out about BMW's and this is what our house looks like now.  Most of the bikes are usually in the garage.  There is always at least one bike on the road at all times, either going to work or headed for a rally, etc.

Now we are overgrown with BMW's instead of  corn.
